GINGER IS found in tropical rainforests, writes Bristol Bears nutritionist James Morehen. It contains alkaloids and is a flowering plant that has been used in medicine for decades.
Ginger has few negative side effects and it’s listed in the Food & Drug Administration’s ‘safe’ list. It’s been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect in vitro studies which may be because of the presence of Gingerols, Paradols, Shogaols, their congeners or other compounds.
