An uninvited guest

As midnight struck on 31 December 2018, fireworks lit up the sky.

Everywhere, people wished each other a happy new year.

But at a house party in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, two men lay dead.

Moments before the clock had chimed, a fight had broken out. Someone called emergency services, saying a gunman, had ‘just started shooting’.

There were at least two victims.

‘They’re both dead,’ the caller said.

The party had been thrown at an Airbnb rental property above a pizza place in Cleveland’s Brooklyn Centre neighbourhood.
