I first saw this scooter at a local multi-meet where it was swarmed by an array of amazed onlookers. Once they’d finished snapping photos on their phones I managed to get a moment with the owner, Mark Milner, and learnt that the project had been a long time in the making.

Hard working

Mark comes from a mining village in West Yorkshire called Allerton Bywater. He grew up on a council estate there and his dad was a miner at the local pit.
