On STAFF

PAMELA PIERCE

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

I have long wanted to introduce you to the MILIEU family—our accomplished staff members, who work together, support one another, and genuinely care for each other. These are the individuals who make every edition of MILIEU happen, as well as of our special projects. Here, in their own words, they share their backgrounds and candid anecdotes about their roles at the magazine.

I am grateful to this team. Without their dedication and determination, we would not be able to give you, our readers, MILIEU. It’s that simple and that important.—Pam Pierce

SHANNON BOWERS

Editor-at-Large

A ten-year career in public education really helped prepare me for team-oriented hard work. I never dreamed I’d have a second career in interior design, as well as the opportunity to be an editor at There’s something amazing about working as a team with a common goal—being stretched personally and watching others on your team grow and blossom. The professional, even familial, relationship we all share at the magazine is a true joy. Part of my job and what has been accomplished since the magazine’s inception. It’s a privilege to be on the inside of this publication as Editor-at-Large and then, in turn, to read the pages of each finished issue for inspiration in my work as an interior designer.
