FROM COVER TO COVER

While putting together Cover Story, one of the toughest decisions was deciding what era to focus on. I landed on a period from 1984-2003 to capture a very specific era of magazines on newsstands.

A lot has changed since then (while other things have remained the same; such as SLAM’s influence as a basketball magazine) so I talked to present-day SLAM Editor-in-Chief Adam Figman about magazine covers and what they mean in today’s media landscape.
