MFs AT MUDDY WHITBY!
This year’s Whitby Traction Engine Rally (August 8-9th) attracted large crowds to a fantastic setting on the cliffs above the picturesque seaside resort, in the shadow of the historic Whitby Abbey. Visitors enjoyed steam engines, commercial vehicles, cars and, of course, plenty of tractors.
There were several grey Fergusons on show, including Chris Chatham’s restored 1954 P3 and Robert Bulmer’s 1953 Ferguson T20. The Ferguson FE35 grey and golds on display included Ray Green’s 1957 example (previously painted red and grey!), and James Whittaker’s machine which was originally scheduled to be one of 10 being exported to West Africa for oil exploration work, but it wasn’t sent.
