A texting mix-up sparked a Thanksgiving dinner tradition that continues this year

The tradition began when Wanda Dench texted Jamal Hinton about coming over for Thanksgiving, thinking it was her grandson. Their shared dinners have brought joy to the internet ever since.
"We are all set for year 6!" Jamal Hinton tweeted on Nov. 14, sharing a message from Wanda Dench inviting him, his family and his girlfriend, Mikaela, over to her Arizona home for Thanksgiving dinner.

In 2016, Jamal Hinton, then 17, received a text from a grandmother inviting him over for Thanksgiving dinner. The thing was, it wasn't his grandmother.
