Cancer scare
It’s the news any woman (or man) dreads to hear – you have the breast cancer gene. And that’s exactly what Lesedi (Luyanda Mzazi) was told a few weeks ago when she learnt her mother died from the disease. Now, desperate to take control of her future and ensure that she’ll see her son grow up, Lesedi is ready to make the ultimate sacrifice: get a double mastectomy.
“She’s not in denial about the possibility of getting cancer at all. She’s terrified,” the actress says matter-of-factly. (Pearl Noxolo Monama) and (Karabo Maseko) are by her side, ready to guide her. But no amount of information can make this kind of decision any easier.
