Trapping, whether you are just running a few traps or a longliner covering many miles, is time consuming. Most of us do not have the luxury of not having to work for a living. Even fewer can trap for a living. So there lies the problem. How to juggle a trapline and that awful four-letter word, work.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have the time to run your traps before heading off to work? For some that is possible, but we all know it’s a little more complicated than just setting out a few easy traps. You need to consider the time it takes to check the trap, dispatch a caught animal, remakes, fur handling and more.
