Yes, they’re all ours!

Gathering my brood in the living room in June 2017, I looked at my hubby Andrew, then 39, and took a deep breath.

‘So...’ I started, smiling at my boys Elijah, then 8, Emery, 7, Easton, 5, and Ezra, 2.

‘Mummy and Daddy have been asked to look after another little girl,’ I explained.

I’d wanted to foster, even before having kids of my own.

Over a decade earlier, a colleague and his wife had been looking into adoption and told me about all the thousands of little boys and girls needing homes.

The seed had been planted.
