His latest effort. , is another example of the Reno, Nevada-based musician’s ability to shift tone and texture while keeping the content consistently alluring and appealing. Opening track “Poor Teresa” sets the standard, all jangly West Coast archetypical rock fueled by hushed harmonies, lilting acoustic guitars and soothing sounds. Think of The Byrds sharing a studio with the band America and the classic comparisons become clear. Amadon’s lilting vocals give songs such as “Entering, but there’s little mystery surrounding these lofty, lingering melodies. And while a couple of songs — “Lighthouse Keeper” and “Parable of the Lone Mare” in particular — may rock, the frenzy is plied with finesse.
