“MY FIVE-YEAROLD SELF JUST EXPLODES INSIDE MY BODY!”
You were a Doctor Who fan when you were a kid. What would your younger self have thought knowing you’d be in the TARDIS one day?
This is a bit of a bucket list thing for me. I never thought I’d has been throughout my life. I had a babysitter who had VHSes of the Sylvester McCoy era. She wasn’t a very good babysitter so I watched them a lot, like “The Happiness Patrol” and “Paradise Towers”. There are all these stories that are seared into my memory and they have this really specific, nostalgic thing for me. When I was a little bit older, when it first came back, I just loved it and it gave me those nostalgic feelings again. So there’s that side of it, where I’m seeing the TARDIS, and I still, every now and then, just kind of snap out and I’m like, “What am I doing? Where am I? What’s going on? This is mad! This is amazing!” My five-year-old self just explodes inside my body, and it’s like, “Wow! Look at all of the things! Look!” You’re there. You’re in your memory or something. And there’s also the side of it that felt like starting a completely new job, with people whose company I just really enjoy. You’re so excited to go to work. So twofold it was a very exciting thing for me. I still can’t believe this has happened. I’m so chuffed.
