HOW TO HUNT DOE BEDDING AREAS

I’ve never had another hunt turn from disastrous, to one of the best sits ever so quickly.

I’d moved a stand to be shared by me and good friend Chad John and his guided hunters. However, it hadn’t been flagged, so Chad couldn’t send hunters in. I needed to get the stand marked.

It was early November in west central Illinois, with temperatures in the upper 80s. The location was a morning setup, as you can beat the deer to the spot without busting them. However, Chad and had I agreed that it was best for me to just mark the stand and hunt it that afternoon. I’d likely bump some deer, but he believed it would be worth it to be able to start hunting the location.
