Glancing up at the ridgetop, I spotted a very good buck. It wasn’t the monster I’d seen in the previous evening’s fading light, but there was no doubt that this early morning visitor was also a shooter.
Better yet, he was very interested in the scent I’d hung on top the ridge. Swaying his head from one side to the other, he did his best to recapture the alluring estrous odor. Finally, he gave up and began working his way down the ridge. That was exactly what I needed him to do.
