GLOSSY BUCKTHORN. Commonly found in oak forests, savannas and near rivers, streams ponds and wetlands, this small tree (grown in clumps) is a noxious weed. Left untouched, it can completely eliminate plant diversity in forest understory. It is also the overwinter host for the soybean aphid.
