Mischaracterisation of global climate change PART 2
Propositions Part 2 explores a number of propositions and evidence-based observations, such as the Paris Agreement, negotiated by governments to mitigate global warming.
Given that the Anthropogenic Global Warming Theory postulates that “human-caused CO2 emissions” are causing global warming, it therefore follows that global warming is influenced by humanity, as opposed to solar activity, etc. and its influence on the current cycle of global warming.
We will only discuss the current mainstream Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Anthropogenic Global Warming Theory proponents' global climate change narratives.
Proposition 1: Climate warming is real
Climate waming is real, but it is not the end of the world nor humanity. Not even remotely so.
Current research shows that by 2100, if we do nothing, the costs (including all the negative impacts, such as increased costs from bigger storms, increased deaths from heat waves, loss of wetlands given rising sea levels, etc.) will be around 3.6% of global GDP.
Proposition 2: The Paris Agreement is destined for failure
Almost all countries' leadership worldwide, including South Africa, approved the December 2015 UN sponsored Paris Agreement and its resolutions on climate change.
The name ‘suggested one comprehensive agreement, but instead it comprises all the individual countries' pledges, stapled together. The pledges made by the signature nations are, at best, guestimates, done in the absence of domestic policy development by each signature country,
