    “F The registration of plant varieties for National Plant Variety Registration is intended to record the inventory of genetic resources available in Malaysia. The list of plant varieties includes common knowledge and varieties protected under Plant Breeders’ Rights.

    This registration has been implemented by the Commodity Division, Department of Agriculture since the 1930s and is now called the Horticulture Division after the restructuring of the Department of Agriculture in 2003.
