Just when the lights, glamour, and dizzying pace of the fashion industry couldn’t get any more exciting, the pandemic brought everything to a screeching halt. Forced into a state of uncertainty, the fashion world particularly suffered as consumerist lifestyles came to a standstill. Runway shows were called off, orders halted, travel banned, artisans and factory workers were laid off, and many brands were suddenly out of business. But in the latter half of 2020, as the fashion world grasped the long-term impact of the virus, designers consciously began to innovate and implement new strategies. There were some significant rearrangements, as well as a repositioning of operations and goals that helped them ensure survive, and dare we say, thrive!
