Hi-Tek-Lube Supercoat bullet coating
Like many other handgun shooters, I’ve been casting my own bullets for many years and lube-sizing or tumble-lubing them with enough success to be still doing it. I was alerted to the existence of the Hi-Tek product by fellow shooter Angelo Mena who, like me, shoots at the Para Range north of Adelaide. Although happy with my existing bullets, I’m always interested in new developments, and Angelo’s bullets looked very professional. He kindly supplied me with a small sample to play with, and I’ve since purchased a 500 g container from the manufacturer and have been coating bullets and undertaking a variety of tests that have so far given impressive results.
The coating powder is available in 12 different colours and several pack sizes, but for the small volume hobbyists like me, a 500 g container will certainly coat a large number of projectiles. (If you consider, say, a 124 gr projectile, you could theoretically apply two coats to 77 000 bullets with 500 g of powder).
