Thoughtful, creative, iconic — these may not be the first words that come to mind when scanning labels at the dispensary. Many cannabis brands focus on compliance rather than creativity, prioritizing function over form. Is there a place for artistry on the retail shelf?
Though flower is often lumped together in nondescript jars — one cultivator seldom differentiated from the rest — other products can and do distinguish themselves. Pre-rolls, vaporizers, topicals, and edibles are packaged with original designs, formulated to entice and build recognition. Sometimes however, packaging is more than marketing, it’s art.
