Lacing up my trainers, I felt a wave of fear.

What am I doing?

It was the end of 2015 and I couldn’t run for a bus, never mind complete 10km.

Snatching a glimpse of my size 18 frame in the hallway mirror and fear was swiftly replaced with determination.

I’d lost a couple of stone since joining Slimming World the year before.

But I had to lose more.

If not for me, then for my beloved son Jacob.

We hadn’t been able to save his life – but I could still save mine.
