    As the sound of motorbike engines roared past me, the excitement of the crowd reached a fever pitch.

    It was October 2019, and my husband Ryan, then 37, and I, along with our daughter, Kendall, seven, had come to watch our son, Tyla, eight, compete in the last round of the motocross winter series.
