RUSTIC DISHES

You will need

■ Dark fabric – Approx. 3¼yds of fabric. One (1) fat quarter for every two (2) Double X blocks. Allow twelve (12) or thirteen (13) fat quarters for a quilt this size*.

■ Light (background) fabric – Approx. 3¼yds of fabric. One (1) fat quarter for every two (2) Double X blocks. Allow twelve (12) or thirteen (13) fat quarters.

■ Sashing – 35½in x WOF of light (background) fabric

■ Binding – 20in

■ Backing – 4½yds

■ Batting – 72in x 72in

Finished size

■ Quilt: 62in x 62in

■ Block: 9in x 9in finished

Notes

■ Use a ¼in seam allowance throughout and press seams in the direction indicated in the instructions.

■ Fabrics are 44in wide.

■ Press all fabrics well before cutting.

■ RS = right side(s).

■ WS = wrong side(s).

■ WOF = width of fabric.

■ HST = half-square triangle.

■ *The pieces for two (2) blocks can be cut from a fat quarter of light fabric and a fat quarter of dark fabric. If you want to alter the size of the quilt, reduce or increase the number of fat quarters accordingly.

■ There should be enough fabric left over
