Favourable forecasts for all SA grains in 2021/22 season

In its seventh production forecast published at the end of August, the national Crop Estimates Committee (CEC) reduced total commercial maize production by 0,7% due to the white maize production forecast decreasing by 172 250t. This means the expected total commercial maize crop is just over 16,3 million tons, up 7% on the previous season, making it the secondlargest maize crop on record.
