WHY DID YOU CHOOSE A CAREER AT SEA?

I grew up in a town by the Firth of Forth and remember shipspotting and wondering which part of the world they were sailing to and from. From an early age I was also fascinated by the great ocean liners and shipbuilding on the Clyde. As I went through school I never saw myself able to do the traditional 9-5 job, so was always determined to pursue a career at sea.
