When did you start your career at sea?

I started in 2003, having gained a sponsorship from P&O Ferries, studying at Fleetwood Nautical College. I had been in the Sea Cadets when I was younger and wanted to work at sea. I am from Whitstable in Kent originally, but now live in Fleetwood, where I studied. There was a ferry service out of Fleetwood when I qualified as Third Officer, but the route closed soon after that,
