Francesco Mellina - Long After Tonight Is All Over

The last night of the Wigan Casino. What could be more iconic to many of us in the scooter fraternity?

Francesco Mellina, the photographer, was there all night and has a collection of photographs which have been published in a book. We were lucky enough to grab him for a chat, a coffee and to tell us how a chap from Polistena, in the southern Italian region of Calabria, became an iconic photographer and wound up recording this historic event.

At an early age Francesco taught himself English by listening to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. At 16, he began a pan-European trek which ended with his settling in Liverpool. Francesco studied photography at Liverpool Art School
