Through dedication and hard work, John survived Vietnam (1968) and arrived in San Francisco in 1973, at KFRC. At the time, KFRC had little audience but went on to be Billboard Radio Station of the Year in 1975, ’76, ’77, and ’78. No facility had ever been Station of the Year back-to-back; KFRC did it four years in a row! In 1978, John was a finalist for Billboard Jock of the Year, the highest award in Radio.
KFRC, San Francisco, was the last great Top 40 station in America.view less
