SA agriculture set for three consecutive favourable seasons

We are in an unusual yet welcome period of potentially three consecutive rainy summer seasons in South Africa. The typical cycle comprises two seasons of favourable rain and large agricultural output, followed by a notable decline in output due to dry conditions.

The only period in the recent past that had three successive years of favourable weather conditions and large crop harvests were the 2007/08, 2008/09, and 2009/10 production
