These days, everything seems to have a special day, week, month or year. For example, I recently discovered there’s an International Dog Day. When I told my dog Dizzy, he just, which I think is lovely. I know a lot of you, our amazing readers, get your weekly from a newsagent. And I know that many of you have really gotten to know the people behind the counter and look forward to your regular catch-up. All of the team certainly owe a debt of gratitude to them for helping us make sure our wonderful mag is available all over the country. Growing up in the old Sydney suburb of Balmain, we were lucky enough to have two great newsagents within five minutes walking distance. On the way home from school, I’d sometimes stop in at one of them for lollies or a packet of Twisties. One of the school mums worked there, and she’d always ask how my day was. I loved going to the other one with Mum to pick up the (wasn’t around then) and when Mum was done with it, I devoured all the stories and reader letters.
