CHURCH OF SATAN

Since 1966, Church of Satan followers have celebrated, in their own words, “Man’s true nature—that of a carnal beast living in a cosmos that is indifferent to our experience.” Founded by Anton Szandor LaVey, the focus of the church is not to worship an actual hellish figure, but to treat Satan as a symbol of carnal nature within secular beings. Celebrating things like pride and individualism instead of treating them as sins, the Church puts the focus on individualism.
