GAMBLING GOATS
Hawaii has introduced a special lottery with some unusual prizes – around 700 goats who have taken up residence in a national park. According to the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, the goats are considered an invasive species and need to be relocated from the Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. In hopes to ensure the goats find greener pastures to happily continue their lives, department officials plan to “distribute these animals to permitted members of the public” through a random lottery draw. Successful winners of the goat gamble will be invited to adopt between 20 and 50 goats each. The main requirement for a goat lottery entry was for the applicant to have access to a 16-foot enclosed
