CHOCOLATE CONSUMING COWS

A dairy producer in South Australia feeds his cows chocolate and lollies to help improve their milk production, as well as, to reduce landfill. Caring for over 4,000 cattle at his Wye dairy farm, James Mann, collects rejected confectionary from Mondelez’s factories in Melbourne, saying, “Whatever Cadbury is making and don’t quite make the grade, our cows are pretty happy to see it - blocks of chocolate, snakes, Cherry Ripes, nougat.” According to Mann, who is also the chair of Dairy Australia, cows need sugar and oil in their diet so he mixes the tasty treats into the animals’
