OFF THE TRACK THOROUGHBREDS

‘There was something special about Libby.’

‘For me,’ Emily begins. ‘Thoroughbreds are the ultimate performance horse. I compete in the discipline of Showjumping on my team of four OTTBs. Being fast learners, they make moving up the grades easier. I work fulltime, so my horses often only get to see jumps at shows. Of those four OTTB shown below, I’ll talk about Libby, my horse of a lifetime.’

Little Wick is 15.3hh, and raced as: But Not Yet. 21yo Wick was a Former Grand Prix Showjumper and still competes successfully up to 1.20m.

Enterprise Asva is 16.2hh, and raced as: EnterpriseAsva. 5yo Penny competes up to 1m.

Star Struck is 15.2hh, and raced as: Eltons Star. 14yo Star competes up to Mini Prix.

Libertarian is 15.3hh, and raced as: Liberty Shopper. 14yo Libby Competes in Grand Prix.

Libertarian is by Statue of Liberty (USA). A three time race winner, Libby was part-owned by two veterinarians, and was retired in 2013. Purchased by a Vet Nurse for her teenage daughter, Libby’s hot temperament made him unsuitable, and he was turned out until 2016. Sent to Emily for training, she saw talent and bought him!
