Watercolours need protection against humidity, ultra-violet light damage and accidental scuffs so they are usually framed under glass, with a mount to stop the glass touching the paper. What if there were another way of protecting and displaying your paintings, however, without the need for glazing? If you are fed up with broken glass, the hassle of bevelling corners on a mount and chipped edges on your frames, you could mount your paintings onto a cradle board and finish with wax, giving a clean contemporary look.
