    There is much to admire about Scotland’s built heritage. Our Georgian town-houses, Victorian tenements, Edwardian villas and more are still much sought after by today’s home-buyers, thanks to their stone-built solidity and decorative detailing. But these dwellings are not without significant drawbacks. Expensive to heat and difficult to insulate, they can be draughty, chilly places to live. The climate emergency, to say nothing of how much better life is at a comfortable ambient temperature, should have us searching for solutions. One architect, Donald Bentley, appears to have found a way forward with his latest project, a 1930s end-terraced house in Glasgow’s southside.
