Coles, 7pm. Your weekly shop. Down the aisles, through the produce. Write a list – tick it off. Don’t write a list – forget the garlic. Snake past the regulars. Make eye contact. Feel awkward. Sing along to the song playing over the intercom. Crack a smile. Think about work. Remember that you have to call your mum back. Think about what you’re going to make for dinner. Think about work again. Think about how you have to stop thinking about work.
