FRESH BLOOD Change your oil

AS OUR SPECIAL FEATURE this issue is all about the latest and greatest oils, fluids and lubricants I thought it be best to give you a rundown on how to change your oil. This is a very simple job that just about anyone can do at home. Just take your time.

Tools/parts required

You’ll need, first and foremost, an oil pan. Grab one from Supercheap Auto, Repco, Autobarn and places like that. They’re cheap as chips. A five-litre oil pan should be sufficient.

Some rags – these are most essential when changing oil as it can sometimes be a messy job.

A can of Brake Clean is the best way to clean up any oil that may have run onto the exhaust, on the engine and on the ground.
