WINNING LETTER
SO GROUNDED!
I live in a singlestorey townhouse with a small, enclosed garden. Whenever I get home from shopping or socialising, the first thing I do when I get out of my car in my garage is take off my shoes – and they only go back on my feet when I go out again. I do get worried looks from my neighbours, who see me collect my dustbin in front of my garage without wearing shoes.
I walk along the short garden area outside my boundary wall barefoot, pulling out weeds. I garden barefoot. I love the feel of the soil; I just have some paper towel ready at the door and wipe off excess soil, if any, then spray my feet clean.
