“I used to read interviews with people like Maggie Tabberer and Ita Buttrose where they would say, ‘You really sink into yourself when you hit 50’, and I can tell everyone out there it’s true,” laughs Rachael, still one of Australia’s most beloved stage performers.
“You have a different perspective on life as you get older – and hopefully wiser! I think it’s a combination of knowing yourself more deeply and realising how short life is.”
Being fit and healthy is part of her job, so it’s little wonder Rachael’s in such great shape. “I’ve always been a dancer,” she says. “I’ve done it all – the pineapple diets, the fasting, Paleo etc. I now know that for me to be happy, the most important thing is balance.
