Solving the slug issue naturally

Q I have a problem with slugs, but because I garden in a wildlife-friendly way I don’t want to use pellets. What are the best alternatives?

A Slugs are a universal nuisance to gardeners, but there are lots of ways of helping control them that don’t involve the use of poisons or chemicals.

You could try beer traps, but make sure the rim of the container stands proud of the soil into which it is sunk, to reduce the risk of beneficial ground beetles falling in and drowning.
