Maritime heritage

I was delighted to see coverage of maritime heritage in last month’s edition of PBO.

As Director of National Historic Ships UK for the last four years and owner of a 112-year-old gaff yawl, I’m guilty of being one of those individuals with a fever for ‘old boats’ described so excellently in the words of Bill Jones.

As well as maintaining the Historic Ships Registers (four lists in total – the National Register of Historic Vessels, the National Archive of Historic Vessels, the Overseas Watch List and the UK Replica List), my day job
