Calendula (Calendula officinalis)
This cheerfully sunny herb (also known as pot marigold) produces abundant orange or yellow flowers. The name ‘calendula’ comes from Latin and refers to how it flowers almost all the months of the year, while ‘pot’ marigold harks back to when it was valued as a mild, saffron-like culinary pot herb.
