Does Vitamin D Boost Performance?

s the days get longer, spending more hours in the sun is part of training. And when it comes to vitamin D levels, that’s a good thing. Known for its important role in bone health, vitamin D also plays an important part in cardiovascular health, muscle strength and recovery and immune function (including some evidence of reducing the severity of COVID cases). Given the plethora of benefits, many are tempted to supplement with mega doses of vitamin D in hopes of ideal health and improved performance. However, it’s not so simple. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin whereby excess is stored in adipose tissue (body fat).
