MELTZER’S MILESTONE: TWO CONSECUTIVE DECADES OF 100-MILE WINS

KEEPING RACE LOGISTICS SIMPLE AND CONTROLLING WHAT HE CAN IS SOMETHING KARL MELTZER HAS DONE THROUGHOUT HIS ENTIRE 25-YEAR ULTRARUNNING CAREER, and he’s confident it’s the best approach to racing, “I think, in general, keeping it simple is the most effective for anyone, whether you are a beginner or top pro. The more you think about it, the more stressful it can become.”

After a tumultuous season that saw Meltzer staring down the final month of the year without a 100-mile race win under his belt, he’s happy with how it turned out despite the setbacks.
