There is a photo that sits on my dressing table, of me with my parents, taken on my 16th birthday. I am huddled close to them, an only child, and we are all beaming into the camera. I remember the moment that picture was taken very well. I felt so happy and loved. You can see it in my face. A contentment borne from knowing that this was my unbreakable world. It would have been unthinkable to see into the future and learn how very wrong I was.
