GARLIC BUNS
I’ve baked this for a braai we had on the mountain on our family farm. You can keep the bread in the tin – just wrap it in cloth. Put the cheese in tinfoil and heat over the coals for a few minutes until melted, then serve with the garlic buns. If your time is limited, use store-bought bread dough.
MAKES 1 ROUND LOAF PREPARATION: 30 MIN RISING: ABOUT 1 HOUR BAKING: 35-40 MIN
500g white bread flour
7,5ml (1½t) salt
10ml (2t) instant yeast
10ml (2t) castor sugar
about 375ml (1½c) warm water
90ml (4T) butter
45ml (3T) olive oil
leaves of 2 rosemary sprigs
3 garlic cloves, bruised
1 round camembert cheese
extra garlic and rosemary for sprinkling
Preheat the oven to 190°C.
