HABITS OF MATTER AND HABITS OF MIND

If there is one thing my degree in hypnotherapy has taught me, it is that our destinies are shaped by our habits. We are largely defined by what we do daily and intuitively more than what we do sporadically when motivation hits—or as necessity requires. In my view, this is the critical distinction we must focus on in our post-pandemic world. But doing so will be tough, because changing our most deeply rooted habits is never without resistance, and yes, cost.

COVID-19 has slapped us with a bitter truth: despite living in the best period in human history by nearly all markers, the quality of life improvements gained through reason, science and humanism can be derailed in a globalized world when our habits predispose us to a crisis.
