LIFE’S A BEACH

SCRUNCHIES

Some people pay good money for ’beach waves’, but if you’d rather keep your hair tied up and out of your face, make some fun scrunchies to do so in style. If you’re lucky enough to have hair that behaves itself in the great outdoors, these make fab accessories to wear on your wrist instead.

BEACH COVER-UP

Throw on this easy-sew cover-up for popping to the ice cream shop or for dipping your toes in the sea. Just because you’re covering up, doesn’t have to mean you’re blending in – choose a bright, tropical fabric and fun pompom trim for a holiday feel no matter where you are.

BEACH TOWEL WITH TRIM

This pretty and practical make brings a whole new meaning to being ‘beach-ready’. This towel has its own carry handle, so if it’s looking like a sunny day you can simply grab your flip-flops, sun cream and towel and head out for a day at the seaside!

WATERPROOF POUCHES

These waterproof zip pouches will come in handy, keeping your valuables protected and easy to find whether you’re at the beach, poolside, or caught in a summer shower. Sew a couple of these in different sizes, and use your fabric scraps for the contrast base.

SUNGLASSES CASE

There’s nothing more distracting than a scratch on your sunglasses, so stop pesky marks – or sticky, sandy little fingers – spoiling your gorgeous beach views by keeping them safe and tucked away in a quilted case. This is another great project for showing off your scraps.

BEACH BAG

If the ginormous beach bags on the high street aren’t for you, this one is just as practical but a bit more manageable size-wise. This lined drawstring bag is just the thing for carrying your sun cream, a bottle of water, a few tasty snacks and a good book to relax with.
