IT’S ALL GREEK TO ME

Does a blob of tzatziki with pitta bread, or a bowl of glistening olives, bring back wonderful memories of holidays to the Greek islands? We’re all dreaming of holidays abroad, but even if overseas travel is looking unlikely for many of us right now, we can still recreate some of those fabulous Mediterranean dishes in our own kitchens.

Irini Tzortsoglou was the winner of Masterchef 2019, wowing John Torode and Gregg Wallace with her winning three-course meal of red mullet with a squid risotto, rosemary lamb chops, and a fig and hazelnut baklava.

Her food was influenced by her own Greek background – and here, she shares three of her favourite recipes. As an added twist, they’re all vegan!
